Clear the area: Make sure that the meter is clear of any obstructions such as boxes, stored items, or furniture which may be blocking access to the meter. If the meter has been covered by drywall or paneling, then it is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure that there is a way to access the meter.

Ensure that your water shut-off valve is in proper working order: Your water shut-off valve must be turned off when the meter replacement is taking place, and if you cannot locate the valve, or have difficulty turning the water off before your appointment, then repairs may be necessary before we can upgrade your meter.
